Heritage: the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society; customs and practices inherited from ancestors.
I have had my share of light criticism: Why is my site so focused on African-American exclusivity, and why can’t I make the subject matter for everyone? Well, from my perspective, a sense of black heritage has been lost, forgotten over the years. And especially in today’s world, I feel this is needed. We need something to smile at. We need something to remind us of our rich history. We need something to reinvigorate our pride, our dignity, and sense of purpose. I don’t claim to be any savior or revolutionary, but I will claim to be part of a movement. It is a movement to reclaim our heritage and educate this generation and the next. Heritage – I’m just trying to be a part of something special. Enjoy.
